강사 소개 | My name is Andrew, and I have been living in South Korea, teaching English, for eighteen years. I have worked at a number of different employers, including Jung Chul, YBM and the Korean Defense Language Institute, Carrot English and Times Media as well asseveral public elementary schools, mainly in the Kyungnam area.
As an employee in South Korea, I have been required to assume a number of roles, and these have included acting as a Guest English Teacher for several public elementary schools under the EPIK (English Program in Korea) system, an English language teacher in private language schools teaching elementary, middle and high school students, and as a conversation teacher in adult language institutions working with university students and Korean military staff, as well as professionals such as doctors and sales managers. I have impressed these people not only with my knowledge of the English language, but also with knowledge gained from my background in biology, chemistry and engineering (including aerospace surface finishing and biomedical science). Prospective employers can be certain that they are not simply getting a person with an interest in English, but someone who can also impart his experience and phenomenology to students, and who also has had experience of a range of different work environments and cultures. Of course, as a person with this kind of background, I am very safety-aware and hence very attentive to Health and Safety issues within the teaching environment. As a person, and both inside and outside the classroom, I have tried to be an approachable and helpful teacher, to answer as many of my students’ questions as possible, and to be a good employee who helps the employer’s business as much as possible. I am convinced that by being a positive person and being able to answer other peoples’ questions, and assist them when they have problems, it enhances the reputation of my employer and shows that I am a dedicated employee. I am also convinced that patience, honesty and sincerity are very important attributes of a good teacher. I therefore consider that I have a strong work ethic and conduct myself professionally and steadfastly on behalf of my employer. I have taken care of my health and have a clear criminal record, and I have a range of technical and other skills which I think make me valuable to employers, for example creating my own documents and media using computers, but I also pay great attention to detail and try to be as well-organised as possible. I am a graduate in biomedical science with two TEFL Certificates and a strong interest in technology, which has proven very useful not only professionally but also socially. I have been employed in a range of teaching positions in which students ranged from beginners to advanced speakers, and I have also been involved in the use of a range of traditional and modern materials (such as multimedia), as well as often having been required to produce these myself as required by the employer. This means that I have experience of producing materials such as presentations, audio and video files, and using the necessary software and equipment for their production, now across a range of platforms. This experience makes me feel much more confident when planning lessons, but I also think that it is important to keep abreast of technology generally, as this is constantly changing. In my experience, being well-organised and being able to make use of the available technologies saves time and allows the teacher to alter schedules or materials without stress when circumstances change. If you have viewed my details and are interested in what you have seen, you are welcome to contact me at the e-mail address given here. I shall be pleased to give you all the information you seek. |
