Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to you to apply for a position as an ESL instructor at your school.  Teaching is something I am passionate about and the ability to immerse myself in a different culture that is so beautiful such as Korean culture would be such an amazing opportunity and experience.  Korea has a booming industry, progressive economy, and rich culture.  It truly is a rising star and is having such an impact and influence in American media and politics.  I would love to be a part of all of this and add a meaningful impact even in a small way. 

I believe that I would be an excellent candidate for this position.  I am a recent college graduate and TEFL certificate holder.  I have an extremely positive attitude that I bring with me to any job I have.  Additionally, I work well and am patient with children.  Patience is key when learning a second language.  Patience allows a teacher to continue to be calm and flexible when explaining a lesson to a student who is struggling to understand and to try out different strategies in teaching. 

I am bilingual in Spanish and English therefore I understand the importance of patience in a teacher.  Due to being a student myself up until recently, and taking several language classes in school, Spanish, Arabic and Greek, I know what works best when teaching a second language and what aspects of learning students need more help in.  Additionally, throughout school I would tutor fellow students that needed extra help in out Spanish class.  Through this I gained experience in teaching and creating activities to help convey knowledge to my fellow classmates.  I know that because of my prior experiences as a language learner and tutor, my enthusiasm and patience I would excel as an ESL instructor. I know how to plan and incorporate different style lessons for different style learners for them to fully understand what is being taught.
